Apply to the Danish International Cello Competition

The Danish International Cello Competition is dedicated to supporting the next generation of exceptional cellists, offering a unique opportunity to advance your artistic career. Competitors will perform for cash prizes totalling €27,000, as well as international concert engagements, a commercial album release, professional mentorship, and artist management opportunities.
All participants in the competition in Sønderborg will receive complimentary accommodation for the full duration of the event, from 26 June to 4 July 2027, regardless of how far they progress in the competition.
Participants are also invited to join the CelloBridge Mentorship Programme, an integral part of the competition that connects emerging artists with leading musicians and industry professionals. Through workshops, discussions, and individual guidance, the programme supports participants in developing their careers, refining their artistic identity, and strengthening the diverse skills required for a successful professional life.

Conditions for Application
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be 30 years of age or younger on the first day of the competition (born after the 27th of June 1996).
- Pay a non-refundable application fee of DKK 750 through the online application system.
- Submit the required identification documents, professional information, video recordings, and repertoire selections for all rounds of the competition.
- Complete and submit the online application by 23:59 CET on 25 October 2026. Applications received after the deadline cannot be accepted.
The Application Process
The application process consists of five steps. You can save your progress at any time and return to complete your application before the submission deadline.
Step 1: Create Your Profile
Begin by creating your profile and providing some basic personal information. Once this step is complete, you will receive an email containing a unique link to your application.
Step 2: Verify Your Email Address
Click the link in the email to verify your email address. After verification, you will be directed to the next step: payment of the application fee.
Step 3: Pay the Application Fee
The application fee is paid securely through Stripe. You can pay using a debit or credit card. Once your payment has been processed, you will be redirected to your application form.
Step 4: Complete Your Application
Complete all sections of the application form, including:
- uploading the required identification documents;
- providing your professional information;
- uploading your video recordings; and
- selecting your repertoire for all rounds of the competition.
Step 5: Review and Submit
Before submitting, carefully review your application to ensure that all information is accurate and complete. This is your final opportunity to make changes. Once you are satisfied with your application, submit it before the deadline.
